Creating and editing documents with ease

Document ONE makes it extremely easy for users to create and edit documents, add existing documents that were previously stored on the file system, and handle paper documents.

MS-Office Documents

Creating a new MS-Office document in Document ONEDocument ONE makes it easy to create MS-Office documents - simply click the New button, choose what type of document you want to create (i.e. Word, Excel or Powerpoint), give it a title, and then start work!

Desktop Enabler Coming Soon!

A desktop enabler is currently being developed to enable you to save MS-Office documents directly into Document ONE without having to already be in Document ONE.

Templates

Creating a new document from a template Centralised, pre-formatted templates help organisations control the consistency and quality of their business documentation.

Document ONE has a centralised Templates database which contains a list of templates that you can choose from whenever you are creating a document.

You can also append templates from Document ONE into new emails.

Existing Documents & Files

Adding an existing document into Document ONE Have documents or files on local or shared drives that you need to put into Document ONE? Simply click the New button and choose From File(s)!

You'll be asked to choose the file(s) that you want to import, and Document ONE will even delete the originals for you if you want, to save you ending up with two copies of the same file!

File Notes

New File NoteFile notes are usually internal documents that contain content which does not need to be a separate file (e.g. an MS-Word document) and which does not need to be formatted in a formal way.

File notes can be used for recording all sorts of things, such as:

  • Minutes of meetings
  • Links to useful web sites
  • Notes on informal project discussions
  • Operational procedures

Editing Existing Files

the Edit button in Document ONE Once you've created a document in Document ONE, you will typically want to edit it many times during its life-cycle.

To do this in Document ONE you simply select the document that you want to edit and click the Edit button - no manual detaching or re-attaching of file attachments required!

"Editing in-situ was a major selling point for all document users and editors, because it vastly reduces the chances of errors arising from documents having to be detached, edited and then re-attached to emails."
