Document ONE enables you to give remote users their own copy of Document ONE that they can use wherever they are, even when they're not connected to your network!
By giving your remote users (e.g. mobile users who are travelling with a laptop, or users who work from a PC at home) a local copy of Document ONE they can:
All while totally disconnected from your network!
You can give remote users a copy of Document ONE in exactly the same way that you give them a copy of their Lotus Notes mail file, i.e. by creating a local replica on their PC or laptop.
Consequently it is equally as easy for your users to synchronise their copy of Document ONE with the server. Whenever they are connected they simply click the Start Now button on their replicator page and hey presto! all of their document libraries are synchronised (along with their email):
It couldn't be easier!
Chances are that these users won't want to take every single document library with them - although they can do this if they want to!
For example, if you have travelling sales staff then they probably won't need to take the Finance or Human Resources library on the road with them - but they may find it very handy to have a copy of your organisation's Client library with them. Simply set your remote users up to replicate only the libraries that are relevant to them.
You can even set up the replication so that whenever these users replicate Document ONE libraries, only the documents in specified folders are transferred to their local copy, i.e. only those documents that are relevant to their job on that day.
Just because your users are working out of the office doesn't mean that your security has to be compromised.
All of the access control features that make Document ONE such a secure system in the office will still apply to local copies on the PCs and laptops of remote users.
