Document ONE uses Lotus Notes' sophisticated security model to give you full control over who can access libraries, folders, and documents.
Access Control Lists (ACLs) enable you to define what level of access a group of users has to a document library, or to the other databases within Document ONE.
For example, you might specify that members of a group can create documents in a library but not delete documents.
Roles in Document ONE enable you to further refine the types of actions that users are able to undertake.
For example, while the ACL might allow a user to create a document in a library, the user might also need to be assigned to a role in order to be able to create a folder in a library.
You can secure folders and documents to either a pre-defined group of users (e.g. Senior Managers) or to one or more individual users.
In each case only the users that you specified can see the secured folders or documents in the library - other users can not see them at all.
Document ONE makes it easy to prevent other people from making unauthorised changes to your documents:
You can delete documents that are In Progress, but they can be retrieved by your Library Manager if you subsequently change your mind.
